Our Mission To offer our students an excellent bilingual academic program that is rich in Costa Rican culture in a warm, supportive environment that strengthens learning, social and emotional growth, and healthy physical development.
Our name comes from the Bribri word “talárke” meaning “growing.” It was chosen because we believe in the importance of the growing process in all developmental areas. The Bribri are a small indigenous tribe of Costa Rica.

Talarke is very different from other schools in Costa Rica, public and private. There is a high emphasis on class participation, in-school learning, and developing thinking skills over memorization skills. High academic standards are achieved without excessive homework or testing. While Talarke meets or exceeds MEP standards in Spanish, it far exceeds those in English and Math.
